Unique Scrapbooking Supplies

Today I want to write a short post about the expectations that you, as a poker player, have when you sit down at a poker table, either online or in a live casino game. I think many times as players learn how to play "good" or at least better poker, they sometimes have unreasonable expectations as to how events may unfold during any given game.

Discover New Music With Your Wireless Internet Connection

Adding to the ambiance of any powwow, or healing ceremony, the music of the flute is unmistakable. Centuries of tradition lie behind the flute, both in regards to the music and the construction. Melodies from antiquity still echo down in the kiva and on the dance floor as the Indian flute weaves its spell.

Principles of Music for the Listener and Music Student

Every individual at some point in his or her life has ideas about rock and roll dreams -- of singing and prancing on stage while playing blistering riffs on an electric guitar to the screams of a multitude of adoring admirers. Although many assume that road to popularity, only a few succeed in attaining this ambitious aspiration. For many who don't make it, they merely take pleasure in being able to play music instruments.

If you're trying to learn how to make your own beats, then you have to have a full understanding of exactly what that entails. You don't have to be a professional singer or musician in order to know how to make your own beats (though, if you did, then you would be one of the few with the ability to do so). To be able to know how to make your own beats, you have to have a certain something.

The Effects of Music in Your Work - Should You Listen to Music While You Work?

Music is based on our imagination and creativity. Only we can decide how importance is music to our life. It plays a vital role in the lives of almost everyone. The best way it helps us is by helping in our mood. Whenever we are sad or happy or excited, we listen to it. Be it slow or fast one to set us dancing. It can also put our mind to peace and calmness. It is history, it is science and it is fun. Many people are so influenced by it that they take it up as a career.

Audio-Technica AT-LP120 Turntable - A Must Read Before You Buy

It is certainly not uncommon, on any night in Nashville, Tennessee to stop by venue after venue and hear live music. Some of the great undiscovered talent is still lurking in these places waiting to get their big break in the music business. Another city that I occasionally, over the years have frequented on business has been Lexington, Kentucky. A city that is known worldwide for the horse industry and their "blue grass" is also no stranger to great undiscovered talent. Many of the major artists on country radio today got their start in Central-Eastern Ky. A few to mention: Ricky Skaggs, Keith Whitley, Patty Loveless, Montgomery Gentry, Exile, John Michael Montgomery and many more.

Injured ‘Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark’ Actor Will Spend Xmas Hospitalized

On Monday Broadway actor Christoper Tierney fell 30 feet and was injured in a failed stunt during a performance of the cursed musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. As you may recall, Tierney‘s fall caused quite a bit of drama for the embattled Broadway musical … but, at last, the show will begin performances TONIGHT. [...]

David and I made the brave decision to make our way to The Grove last night so that we could walk around the outdoor shopping center to take in the Xmas decorations, pick up a few last minute things and pretty much just hang out. Fortunately for us, the massive crowds weren’t an issue nor was the, thankfully, dry weather. No, when I was bleeding all over the floor at World Market not 10 minutes into our arrival, I knew it was going to be a special night.

Let me tell you, broken glass ornaments are no joke … NO JOKE PEOPLE! While perusing the Xmas offerings at World Market, I reached out to pick up a cute little glass bird thing and little did I know that it was broken. A very sharp piece of the glass poked right into my fingertip and SQUIRT! out came the blood. I was so surprised, I didn’t know what to do … but by the time the 8th big drop of blood splashed onto the floor, I grabbed a newspaper flyer and wrapped my finger. It took a bit of time but the folks at World Market came over to clean up the blood and whisk me into the back storeroom so that I could wash my finger and get it all bandaged up … OH and to fill out 3 forms to document the accident. To be honest, I was more embarrassed than anything else … and I ended up buying a NOT BROKEN glass bird for our Xmas tree so … yeah, that was the most exciting part of the night.

The rest of the night was fairly nice, yet uneventful. We managed to get “snowed” on by the fake snow that The Grove pumps into the air … snow that is made out of soap, so if you inhale it, get it in your eyes or swallow it … it makes you want to die. Xmas in LA, folks.

Tonight, David and I will be sharing our first Xmas Eve dinner together so we are looking forward to that. I have a few Xmas specials I want us to watch … deffo A Charlie Brown Christmas, most likely Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and hopefully White Christmas (which will be a hard sell for David but … well, Xmas miracles do happen). I hope all y’all have a fabulous Xmas Eve tonight. May Santa Claus make your Xmas wishes come true … and Happy Holidays!!

On December 4, 1956, four young rockabilly pioneers got together in the famed Sun Studios for a one-time-only jam session. It was a seminal moment in rock and roll history and it's difficult to imagine now what it must have been like to have Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins all in the studio singing, playing, and creating together.

Rap mixtapes inevitably include songs from Tennessee's Project Pat, who became nationally known in the early 2000s but for whom rap has always been a way of life. Project Pat mixtapes are a great way to get to know this artist and his brother Juicy J, who is co-founder of the Three 6 Mafia. And so … the rain continues to fall here in SoCal. I’m not gonna lie, while I can appreciate the change of pace … the continuous rain is starting to be a real downer. I spent all of yesterday holed up indoors, trying to stay out of the cold wetness inside … and also spent much of my time trying to extract the constructive criticism from some of y’all about your feelings regarding the new layout of Pink is the new Blog.

Believe me, from the bottom of my heart … I am very thankful for all the feedback … both good and bad. Yes, it is much easier to read the positive comments but the passionate negative comments are very enlightening. I’ve been blogging for a very long time. It started out as a hobby but over time it turned into a passion and has been my livlihood for quite some time now. While nothing would make me happier than to please all people, all the time … that simply cannot be. When I started blogging, there was no TMZ … major news publications never dared to lower themselves to the blog format … and it was pretty much the Wild West of the Blogosphere (oh yeah, we used to use that word, too). My initial blog format was to write one big, long post per day and squeeze in as much daily goss as I could in that one post. The only reason that was my format of choice was because my poor HTML skills wouldn’t allow me to do anything else. It took a long time for me to risk changing EVERYTHING into a totally new format a few years ago … and then again now. It’s clear that some folks don’t like this new layout, and I can totally appreciate that. I’m listening to the dislikes and working towards finding a way to find a middle ground … as I said yesterday, nothing is set in stone. At the end of the day, I still really love what I do. I still really LOVE keeping up on pop culture and celebs and sharing my thoughts on all the funnest stuff. That is what I have been doing since I started blogging and that is what I plan to do for as long as I can. Blog culture is so different now than it was when I started. Now, major corporations with seemingly endless amounts of money fund seemingly endless numbers of blogs. I’m still just one person. In order for me to be able to continue to do what I love doing … I need to grow, adapt, change. Of course it is not my intention to alienate anyone, least of all you beloved readers who seem to enjoy what I do … but in order for me to be able to keep on bloggin’, things gotta change from time to time.

To those of you sending in your well wishes, positive comments and love — words cannot express what that has meant to me in the past 24 hours. To those of you honestly sharing your thoughts — both good and bad — I honestly love you for taking the time to share those thoughts with me. My end goal has been and will continue to be to keep writing Pink is the new Blog. I’m happy and thankful for any and everyone who wants to keep reading along.

10 Trivia Night Tips - Pub Trivia An Entertaining Night Out

For many years the British seem to have become obsessed with the wildlife, flora and fauna of anywhere other than that of their own country. Trips to the Arctic wilderness have increased, at the same time us well travelled Brits visit Africa and India to witness what their natural world have, and go further afield to witness the vast Great Barrier Reef or wonders of Yellowstone National Park. But just recently there has been a renaissance in our interest in our own wildlife in the UK.

Legends Of The 1970s - Slade

The widely successful American folk-rock group Simon & Garfunkel was formed in 1957 by singer-songwriters Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel. Although America's mainstream might say otherwise, folk-rock and "cult concerts," as they're sometimes referred to, have an enormous following, as evidenced by bands like Phish and the Grateful Dead. Simon & Garfunkel still won't be certified by many with the credit they're undoubtedly due, but the mainstream music scene has always been that way; and ever since the band's first attempt at music in the late 1950s, the duo has had to settle for sometimes being misrepresented and even...

Christian Karaoke Songs - Find The Lord With Music

Legendary rock and roll band The Rolling Stones got their start in 1962 and they're still performing on the road and releasing new music today after nearly five decades in the business. Most books written about the group cannot rightly sum up their entire career; it's just been too storied and too drawn out to correctly quantify the magic behind the men. The band's front man Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards were childhood friends growing up in England.

To be honest, I always found Feldman‘s MJ impersonation extremely weird … now that MJ has passed, I find it extremely weird AND creepy.
